HI! I’M JULI SHIELDS, QUILTER

Born and raised in Southern Indiana, Juli attended college a few miles from her hometown. After undergrad, she began law school at Indiana University School of Law and began practicing law in Indianapolis. In 2002 on her own, Juli adopted her daughter from China. In 2006, after almost 20 years of living and working in Indiana, Juli was offered a job of a lifetime by a national health system as one of their top lawyers. She and her daughter moved to St. Louis, Missouri and Juli worked at that health system for 11 years. In 2017, she took an opportunity for a buy-out, not knowing what the next chapter would be. During this work hiatus, she eventually realized that her longtime dream of having a quilting business was possible. In 2020, during a world-wide pandemic, they moved back to Indiana, settling in Zionsville. While recuperating from an appendectomy and wisdom teeth removal, her daughter discovered her affinity for graphic design, and started a sticker business. Together, they hatched the idea of building a space to make art and share their love for creativity. A few months later, Pink Moon Designs was born. Now, Juli designs and makes quilts and offers other quilting services while spreading that joy in teaching others.
